[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Whirlpool trash compactor we have bought for our last two homes. It is a great appliance and it greatly reduces the trips out to the exterior trash bin. I highly recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Install easy, need 1 and 1/2 person to perform the install for electric and unit with cord. Works like advertised and pretty quite. Great compacting too. Opening with foot can be tricky at times.

Easy install; quiet and works well. Nicer if it came with a few bags … HD sells them but not in stock at stores.

Noisier than my last compacter but will have to live with it.

We replaced a Sears brand compactor with this model. The difference being the seemingly lighter weight in the construction. In particular when closing the trash bin. Also, the front panel of the collection container is not welded together in the front right corner so the exterior, or front panel, does not close flush. There is only one compact setting and no extra pact (although it does pack well at the regular setting). This kept me from giving it an excellent rating.

it works good, wish it had a crushing feature, the KitchenAid model has one, however, we needed one in black, so this was are only option. otherwise it is good.

I have had 2 Whirlpool compactors. The first one lasted about 7 years and it started making a loud banging noise and would not turn off. The 2nd one is now doing the same thing after just one year.

Does not compact nearly as good as our last one. Died in less than a year. Waste of money

We bought this unit in January for over $1K thinking by paying more we would get better quality. The unit began 'sticking' sporadically as it would finish a cycle about a month ago. You would have to cut the power off to get it to shut off. Now the buttons light up, but it does not come on at all. Frustrated!!!

I love my new compactor. It replaces one that I had for over 10 years. It reduces my trash to a manageable size for a senior citizen. Everyone should have one.

I bought it online. Smooth purchase with a little help from a very friendly associate. The Whirlpool compacter is working just fine!

Cheaply crafted, flimsy. Nothing like the old one that was solid in design.

Well certainly it is not made of the same heavy steel as our 15 year old compactor, and we did have to remove the padded top panel to get it to fit. However, it does the job.

Made in the USA and works like the quality work you would expect. Love it.

Easy Installation, meets our expectations. Have had compactor one month.

Wish i could give this NO STARS. Purchased this in July 2020 and its November 2020 and it is already broken. I have barely used it as it is only my husband and myself who live in our home. What a piece of garbage- literally. In addition cannot get anyone in my area to come to my home to work on it.

The compactor was delivered but the delivery person refused to take the old compactor that I paid to have hauled away. Within two days, the rails came undone and the compactor would not close. We had this model before and it broke often as well. We had no choice but to repurchase this because as it was the only one that fit the hole and color we needed. Bad product, bad service.

Sounds like a bull dozer. Not even close to my 15 year old GE that just died.
