I have had this product for 1 year. Bags are a pain to change and no deodorizer system. If I had to replace it I would use another product other than Whirlpool.

Unit fit perfectly where the old one was installed and installed with minimal difficulty. Hopefully, this one will last longer than our GE did.

We replaced a Kitchen Aid when the motor went out. This compactor seems so cheaply made compared to our old one. The door feels like it wobbles and is going to fall off. They don’t make things like they used to. For over $1000 I would think this would be more sturdy.

I had a white KitchenAid compactor for about 20 years and it was working as good as the day that I bought it, but I am in the process of replacing all kitchen appliances with stainless steel ones. I made the mistake of replacing the trash compactor with this Whirlpool model. The compactor looks attractive and it has a convenient foot peddle to open the door. The compactor does not compact anything unit the compactor is about 1/2 full and does not compact very much before retracting. My KitchenAid compacts twice the amount of garbage in the bag as the new Whirlpool model. Someone who has never had a trash compactor might be satisfied with this Whirlpool model; however, I would recommend paying a little extra and getting a model that has 2 composting options as my KitchenAid. I am glad that I kept my old KitchenAid. I use it in the garage for compacting other trash.

Stay away... Ours only lasted about 2.5 years. Not good for such a pricey appliance. It was nice while it lasted, but too expensive to repair (over $500) and off warranty now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 24 years my Whirlpool Compactor still worked but was very noisy! This new one has a handle that looks good and will support a towel near the sink, perfect!! It's is quiet and does the job.

I'VE ONLY HAD THIS COMPACTOR A FEW DAYS BUT IT LOOKS & WORKS GOOD. LOVE THAT I GOT THE ONE WITH THE HANDLE AS YOU CAN OPEN THE DOOR FROM IT OR THE BOTTOM. IT IS ALSO A GOOD PLACE FOR US TO HANG A TOWEL♥♥♥

Love the looks. Fits beautifully in my new kitchen. But function is better than looks. Only had it for 4 weeks so hope it continues working for several years as well as it is now.

For paying $1000.00 for this product I am not very happy with it. I just bought this product The front door is very wobbly feels like the door is going to fall off every time I open it. I called Whirlpool and they are going to send someone out to take a look at it. If they tell me that this is the way the door should be I am sending it back to get a refund.

It worked great in the beginning but stopped working. We need someone to service it at this point actually

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the convenience of the “no hands needed to open”. Also only have to toe touch for operation. Never necessary to clean or empty my hands while working in my kitchen to open or compact!

Easy to install but lacks the ability to have the piston stay in the down position to add extra compression.

Easy to install and use

We’ve had this compactor for about a month and couldn’t been more unhappy with it. The front door so flimsy it feels like it’s going to come off every time you open it, and it’s so loud that if you’re on the phone you have to leave the kitchen when it’s running. I don’t recommend this product .
