Can you keep the lid open with a locking mechanism of some sort?
Yes, you will need to manually lift the lid and trim and push it back to a 90 degree angle. This will allow the lid to stay open.
No, you would have to hold it open with your foot. Otherwise, you could prop the whole lid up to keep the trash can open without touching it. That’s how you put a new trash bag on.
