Any type of carpet can be used in any room, but here's what we recommend based on our customer preferences:

• Texture or twist carpet works great in bedrooms and living spaces.
• Patterned carpet is most often used in bedrooms, living spaces, home offices, and stairs
• Loop or berber carpets work well in bedrooms, living spaces, home offices and stairs. Keep in mind, pet claws can snag loop and berber carpet, so it may not be the best choice if you have furry friends.

Each of our carpet collections comes with warranties ranging from 5 to 25+ years of coverage for stains and wear and tear. Professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months is required for warranty coverage.

A professional in-home flooring measure is necessary to:

• Confirm the dimensions of the area requiring new flooring
• Evaluate your existing flooring for damage, levelness, creaking floors and/or moisture levels if applicable
• Identify any special installation requirements such as uneven subfloors
• Take pictures so your installer is prepared for the installation
• Create a computer-generated floor plan for you to visualize seam placement and other details
• Provide a final quote, including materials, installation and any additional charges
• Fully back the integrity of the installation

Yes. The Home Depot will gladly move most basic furniture items such as couches, dining tables, end tables and dressers. We do require that you clear out and disassemble all bed frames, wall units, entertainment centers and dressers with detachable mirrors prior to your installation date if you want us to move them.

You may also choose to have our team disassemble and reassemble these items for an additional fee. If you prefer to move your own furniture, you must ensure all items are removed from the work area prior to installation.

Exceptions: Our installers are not equipped to move extremely large, heavy or fragile items, including: safes; glass china cabinets; delicate antiques and heirlooms; grandfather clocks; hospital, Sleep Number and other electric beds; waterbeds; aquariums; pet trees and houses; pianos and organs; pool tables; large exercise equipment and weights; or video game electronics and machines.

Yes, quick installation of select carpet products is available in as little as 5 to 7 business days after measurement and payment in select areas.

Installation times vary depending on where your carpet is being installed and the complexity of the job. Most carpet installations can be completed within one working day, but for a more accurate time frame, consult with your installer at the time your job is scheduled.

No. We cannot install carpet that has not been purchased as part of an installation package.
