The Home Depot customer service people, the second FI person, and the installers were all very professional and helpful. After spending $11000 for 11 windows, I was and still am extremely frustrated with the poor quality control that must exist in the Simonton factory--4 windows had large amouts of glue overspray on them that had to be razor-bladed off, 1 front window ($2000) frame was damaged from the factory, 1 large front window had conveyor belt scratches on the INSIDE of the double glaze panels, and I window had a deep scratch in it, and the garage window screen would not fit no matter how hard we tried. These problems were all corrected, it is true, but the frustraion of having paid out about 1/3 of my yearly income for damaged goods continues. I cannot recommend Simonton windows to anyone, and my wife and I will not be shopping at Home Depot for a long while. Interestingly we had bought a $3200 refrigerator at Home Depot just weeks before contracting for the windows, and had planned to furnish a new kitchen with matching appliances from Home Depot--that will not be happening. A further note: I had to ask the first FI to leave our home because of being so brash and rude--that issue was handled, but we believe that that person should take a course on unoffensive customer service which respects the customer in their home.

Home depot was great to work with. From the beginning working with the salesman Steve (he even met me at work when I needed him to), to the installers. The job was done right, done quickly and done neatly, Besides having new windows you would have never known they were there.
