Installation day was a disaster. Rockwood Changed the arrival time three times ?all on the same day?installation day?the last time without even telling me. I spent the whole day waiting for installation. Communication seemed good up until that point I got a confirmation email a few weeks ahead when I contacted after that with questions I got no response. I requested confirmation, got no response. I called the number listed for my contact as a ?concierge? contact I got no response so this was obviously meaningless. The only ones that showed up Johnny on the spot were the ones that were ensuring the sale, the initial sales pitch and then measurements. When it came right down to brass tacks and getting it installed, the company seemed much less interested in whether I was satisfied or not. In fact on installation day when calling the 866 number they said that my technician would give me a call a half hour before he arrived. That never happened. I got a text saying it might be within about a half hour and then a text that said it would be 15 minutes, ?at the end of the day after they were 4 hours late?but I was not looking for texts. I had my phone on listening for calls Which was also annoying. The Customer representative would only say sorry and they would contact the representative, but never got back to me and then they had the audacity to say that when my first appointment time came and went and then the second appointment window came and went that really I had had a long much later appointment window. No nope I know what My appointment window was as I had planned for it to be there, the company apparently did not . Would not recommend Rockwood, and that would not trust another company that supposedly is a partner with Home Depot.

Steve and Danny installed our shutters and were so fantastic! They were clear during the process and very professional. We appreciate all that rock wood and MTS installations did for us! Roberta at RockWood was also fantastic and very professsional!

First off, the sales lady was great. Small business, women owned, I'm all for that. The Window shutters they installed were out of square and not assembled properly in my opinion. (Retired General Contractor). I had 9 windows covered with these shutters. They were kinda flimsy, feeling like cheap plastic material. I was told by the installer that I would have to raise the end of the larger shutters to close them, lifting the end so they would go into the frame and close correctly. They sagged. Wow. THAT'S quality there. After not accepting 5 complete window shutter coverings, they returned after a few weeks and replaced those 5 complete shutters. Sadly, the replacement shutters were the same thing, just built more squarely. Still flimsy, still had to lift the end so they would close correctly. So, knowing what I know, I took 2 of them apart, Squared and lined everything up, and installed more screws to tighten things up. Worked better, but still, cheap plastic is hard to fix. When I asked the installer for some assembly screws that would match theirs and I would fix all of them myself, he said they would ship me 100 of them. Cool. Instead I got an email from their office wanting me to sign a release because now I am modifying their shutters. So the lifetime warranty would be null and void? Not one bit happy am I. I was 1 minute away from calling and having them all removed and my money returned, the wife says pipe down, they look fine to me. Rockwoods' lucky day. I still bite my lip every time I open one. Should've went to a better quality shutter specialty place. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for.

Your blanket policy of doing window inserts only was really not what I needed. I needed to fill the hole available between the original studs. I think your installer would?ve been able to do that except for your policy. There?s no reason that I could see after watching the installation why it couldn?t have been done The way I wanted him to do it. Then I would be happy with the job because the windows would fit properly and I wouldn?t have to alter my shutter frame so that the undersized window you provided would fit work correctly. I shouldn?t have gone with Home Depot because your policy is not reasonable. You need to trust your installer, particularly when you have a professional installer come out. Because of this, I don?t think I could use Home Depot again.

I feel like the job they did was excellent. They were very professional very neat and I don?t feel like there?s anything that would?ve made it better than it was. My experience was great.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between aluminum, vinyl, and wood window materials?
Aluminum window frames combine contemporary style with the ability to handle extreme temperatures. Vinyl window frames, which typically contain PVC, combine ultraviolet protection against the sun, water resistance, and easy maintenance. Wooden window frames will not stick due to contraction and expansion. However, wood is susceptible to rot and weathering, making it harder to maintain.
How many windows and doors can I have replaced by The Home Depot?
Our certified Ventura County window replacement specialists can replace one, a few, or all of your windows and doors.
How long does it take to replace my windows?
The timing of a window replacement job depends on how many windows you want to replace. If you want to update many windows, expect the installation project to span about 1–2 days.
What is the best way to maintain my new windows?
Use a soft cloth to wipe the window frame and remove loose debris. Clean the windowpane with a household glass cleaner, wiping thoroughly to prevent streaks. Use a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt from the window screens. You can also remove the screens and wash them in warm, soapy water.
