You really need a customer service rating worse than "poor". I used Home Depot to replace all the windows at my home. A salesman gave me an estimate of about $5500 which I signed. A week later he came back and said he made a "mistake" which raised the price about 20% but I still agreed to go ahead with the project. A week later the installer came by and told me the windows had to be "wrapped" although the salesman told me that wasn't necessary. A few days later the installer's supervisor and the salesman came by, looked at the windows, and told me the windows did not need to be wrapped. They knew I preferred unwrapped windows but offered to comp me for the wrap because of the multiple mistakes to date. I believe this offer might have been a ruse because they knew I wanted unwrapped windows and I said go ahead with unwrapped windows. On the day of the installation, the installer arrived four windows short because someone - incredibly - failed to order the four windows on the second page of the order. I called my "project manager" and spoke to her supervisor about this, to me, incredibly unprofessional experience. He apologized profusely and told me I would be compensated for the time I had to take off to deal with multiple visits from people involved in this and the mistakes made by most people involved. Needless to say, I believe this promise of compensation was a sop to me and I don't expect it. Meanwhile, on his own initiative, the installer wrapped the first window, pulled out the next old window to be replaced, and showed me why the windows had to be wrapped. Any reasonably intelligent person could see that the installer was right about the necessity to wrap the windows and he wrapped all the windows. I was then promised that the missing windows would be available in about a week or so and, needless to say, that date was not met. When the four windows finally arrived and after they were installed and the installers had left I noticed that one of the four windows was not the one I had ordered but at this point I was just glad this ordeal was over. I also ordered storm doors from Home Depot at about the same time and am experiencing an eerily similar, unpleasant experience.
