Whether you're looking to update your kitchen or spruce up your living room, you have a variety of tile types to choose from, including:

Backsplash refers to any wall tile that covers the wall between a countertop and cabinetry, most often in the kitchen but also as a feature in some bathrooms.
Many types of tile can work for your new backsplash, including materials like ceramic, natural stone, glass, slate, marble and porcelain. When it comes to style, arabesque, chevron, and herringbone are popular patterns.
Also, consider decorative tile accents to pair with other types of wall tiles for a stylish highlight. Enhance walls, floors, kitchen backsplashes, countertops, tile murals, or any other home decor with a wide selection of decorative tile accents.

If you're working on updating your bathroom or shower, tile is one of your best options. Whether you're looking for decorative accents to give your bathroom some personality or a full remodel, we've got you covered.
Along with updating your tile, our installers can help you with your vanity, sinks, faucets, tub, shower, flooring, lighting, storage, wall paint, and more.

Encaustic cement tile, or encaustic tile, is a ceramic tile with a pattern on the surface that isn't a result of glazing, but from the colors of clay. Cement tiles aren't just for the floor. They can be used to tile walls, countertops, backsplashes, or any other parts of your home. The biggest advantage of cement tile is that it's durable and hardwearing, so it will last longer than other tile types.
Cement tiles don't require much special care. Aside from routine cleaning and occasional resealing, concrete tiles are low maintenance. Handmade cement tile patterns available at Home Depot include arabesque, herringbone, circulos, and an array of mosaic patterns.
An all-cement tile surface will also have excellent insulation, as cement is dense and cool to the touch. Consider the energy bill savings a bonus! Schedule an in-home measure to get a quote based on the floor tile of your choice.

Ceramic tiles are an ideal choice because they’re made from clay, meaning they are water-resistant, crack-resistant, easy to maintain, and come in endless styles, shapes, and patterns.
Cost-effective and tough, ceramic tile is best suited for high-foot-traffic areas like kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms, and entryways. You can check their ratings to determine how much moisture a given type of ceramic tile will absorb. Ceramic tiles work well as floor tile, wall tile, backsplashes, and countertops. When ceramic tiles are glazed, they get a liquid glass coating that resists stains, scratches, and fading.
Subway tiles are a trending ceramic tile shape that uses beveled, double-fired, and standard ceramic. Ceramic tile murals are also common for kitchens and showers. Unglazed ceramic tile can give you a natural stone look. Our installation pros can help you take on a ceramic tile home improvement project. Glass tile often refers to glass mosaic tile designs, which you can find in many styles and patterns depending on the process used to make them. Glass shares the same strength and durability as ceramic tile, without being porous. Some glass tile types include cast class, fused glass, stained glass, tumbled glass tile, and iridescent glass tile.
Mosaic patterns include arabesque, basketweave, brick join, chevron, fish scale, honeycomb, herringbone, and more. Edge types add another dimension. Beveled, chiseled, curbed, flat, or pressed glass tile might make all the difference in your design. Glass tiles can be a great feature in kitchen backsplash tile designs, bathroom walls, shower walls, and countertops. Glass subway tiles are becoming a trendy alternative to the classic ceramic subway design because their colors are more vibrant than ceramic tiles. Glass tile is easy to work with, and you don't need to make complicated cuts. Choose installation from a licensed, insured Home Depot service provider for a job done right.

Types of natural stone tiles include granite tile, slate tile, travertine tile, sandstone tile, onyx tile, limestone tile, and marble tile. Depending on where you plan to install natural stone tile, one type might be better suited than another.
For example, Carrara marble is durable and its veins and striations make it an elegant floor tile or countertop. On the other hand, limestone tile is soft and easy to cut, but is more prone to chip and stain. Limestone tile is best for a backsplash or low-traffic area. Natural stone tile finishes include glossy, honey, matte, polished, and textured.
Many natural stone tiles can be heavy or fragile and difficult to install. The Home Depot’s professional tile installation experts make it easy, and are local, licensed and insured for your peace of mind.

Porcelain tiles are a type of ceramic tile that's made from clay and fired at higher temperatures than normal ceramic tiles during manufacturing. Affordable and low maintenance, porcelain floors are ideal for outdoors and cold temperatures, as well as high traffic areas in your home like kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways.
Porcelain tiles are naturally water-resistant and can be coated for better traction. Glazed or not, porcelain doesn't trap dirt or dust, so it’s an ideal option for those with allergies. They're easier to cut than other tile types, which makes them a popular choice for porcelain mosaics and accents. The Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI) provides porcelain durability ratings on a scale of 1-5, so consider this rating if you're interested in the durability of a specific porcelain product.
Porcelain tiles often resemble the matte look of wood, natural stone, slate, and other earthy tiles. With a range of natural colors, patterns, and finishes, porcelain tile can be a great choice to create a natural wood or brick look. Whether it's a backsplash or a flooring project, you can count on the tile experts at The Home Depot for a high quality installation.

You'll often find mosaic tile on bathroom walls or kitchen backsplashes, but mosaics can be installed anywhere throughout your home. Mosaic tiles are usually a collection of multicolored glass tiles or glass pieces over a mesh backing for easy installation.
Mosaic tile resists moisture and stains, making is a durable option. It doesn't chip easily, making it suitable for countertops, walls, indoors, outdoors, and even floor tile. Because it has more grout lines than other tile types, the textured surface is naturally more slip resistant.
You can create a decorative accent piece on a backsplash with mosaics or add them to a pattern within a larger tile design. You can find mosaic patterns at Home Depot, such as arabesque, herringbone, chevron, basketweave, fish scale, or pebble mosaic.

Trim tile is tile that lines the edges of a kitchen backsplash, floor, or countertop. Trim tile is an excellent finish to any tile project and can fit a wide range of needs for different spaces.
For example, bullnose tile has a rounded edge to complete a corner, while fitting into the main tile layout. It's suited for wall corners, shower nooks, and windowsills. Quarter round tile is similar to wood quarter round, meant for rounding off edges around sinks or countertops. Marble pencil liners are common on countertops or floors where there's a transition from one floor to another. Chair rail trim adds depth to a backsplash around stove or oven backsplashes.
Porcelain tile and ceramic tile are easy to work with and cut, making them common trim types for tile installations. Depending on your project and tile type, you can choose from even more trim tiles available—talk to a specialist about trim tile installation options!
Porcelain tile is denser and more durable than ceramic tile and often has a higher PEI Rating. Porcelain also absorbs less water making it a great choice for bathrooms, high traffic rooms, and exteriors, but stone tends to be the best option for exterior tile since they are a natural material.
Ceramic is not suited for outdoor use. Ceramic tile is softer than porcelain, which makes it easier to cut for installation and a great choice for projects that are on a tight budget.
Glazed tile has an additional layer of liquid glass applied to the top as the final step of the firing process. Glazed tiles come in a larger variety of colors and styles than unglazed and are more stain resistant.
Unglazed tiles are more slip and scratch resistant than glazed tiles.

This is delaying the return of the unused product. We are on hold, waiting on IT. The product needs to be removed from our garage, the returned product needs to be credited and we need to finalize the project paperwork. Please help!!
