Never give your Gift Card number to anyone over the phone. Law enforcement authorities or the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will never ask you to pay for anything using gift cards; if you get this type of request, it is a scam. If you think that you have been the victim of a gift card scam or would like more information about gift card scams and how to report them, contact the Federal Trade Commission by phone at 877-382-4357.
