Stamping Paper (Optional)

You can personalize your gift wrap with rubber stamp designs of your choosing. It's an optional step that turns a simple gift wrap project into a unique gift wrap.
Steps for using rubber stamps:
- Cut a section of paper larger than the pot you're wrapping. Place it on your work surface, presentation side up. Secure the paper to your work surface with tape like painter's tape.
- For uniform spacing of your stamp designs, use a ruler and pencil to mark the placement of each stamp design.
- Use the ink pad to lightly transfer ink to the stamp. Make sure the stamp is evenly coated with ink.
- Press stamp onto paper, using even pressure across the stamp. Apply pressure to each corner, then finish with pressure at the center. Expert advice: do not rock the stamp.
- Allow ink to dry.
Tip from our expert stylist: It's better to stamp the paper after it's been cut and before wrapping the pot.
Measure Paper

Using a ruler and pencil, mark off a 12-inch square of paper.
For the quart-size potted poinsettia plant shown here, we used a 12-inch square of paper. If your pot is a different size, place it on the big sheet of paper, measure the height of the pot and then cut the square based on that measure.
Tip: Working with an empty planter is faster. Just place your poinsettia plant in a temporary planter or bowl while you wrap the pot.
Cut Paper

Use sharp scissors to cut the wrapping paper.
Fold Paper

- Fold paper in half.
- Fold paper in half again. You now have four squares.
- Use scissors to cut 2- to 3-inches on each folded line. (This will accommodate the base of the pot. If your pot is a different size, adjust the length of the cut.)
- Place the pot on top of the paper. Fold one corner up and use double-sided tape to attach paper to pot.
- Work around the empty pot, taping each section of paper to the pot.
- Place double-sided tape in each fold as you work around the pot.
- Place the poinsettia plant in the completely wrapped pot.
Secure with Rubber Band

Place a rubber band around the poinsettia pot to hold the paper in place.
Tie on Ribbon

Tie a ribbon around the pot, covering the rubber band. If needed, secure the ribbon with double-sided tape.
Add Decorations

Finish with embellishments like tiny jingle bells, sprigs of holly and a jolly gift tag. If needed, use double-sided tape to secure the items to the pot or ribbon.
