What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

Is The Home Depot Albany, OR hiring?
As an essential retailer, we're hiring seasonal associates in Customer Service/Sales, Store Support, Freight, and Merchandising. We’re taking measures to keep our associates and customers safe, including providing face coverings and gloves, limiting the number of customers in stores at one time, promoting social and physical distancing practices, and implementing additional cleaning measures to sanitize facilities. The biggest problem at this store is always having merchandise on pallets in the aisles. Today was no different. On aisle 32 there were 2 pallets blocking the entrance to the aisle and in the aisle. Does your freight crew not put stuff away at night? This is a consistent problem at this store. Something needs to be done. Management needs to be aware of what's going on a little bit better.

This review is hard for me to write because on one end the gentleman who helped me out with my paint was AMAZING but in the other the woman who I asked questions of in the appliance area was so terrible my mom ended up going elsewhere for her stove. It’s upsetting because there was no reason for her to be as upset as she was. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don’t know, but it was really upsetting. I felt like she was judging us by out appearance (it’s a home improvement store, you don’t dress up to shop there), she kept stressing the policies on clearance or discounted items when we weren’t even looking at them (there was one out of about 10-15 stoves), she was speaking to us as if we were stupid when we asked a couple of questions (we asked probably 3 about instillation, shipping, and removal of the old appliance). It was a pretty bad experience. Which is sad because normally I have pretty good experiences at this specific store. My mother is a vet with many issues in relation to her service and it was so upsetting to see someone treat her as this woman treated her. And even with my mothers social issues I don’t think that she was asking questions that someone without them wouldn’t have asked. Normally I would recommend this store but today made me uncomfortable to say I would do so. I guess I would recommend if you need paint but not if you need large appliances.

My experience at the store was completely redeemed by the help that was provided to me by Jamie in lumber. Multiple calls to the garden center for help getting a grill down off the top of the shelves were unanswered, so following the sound of a forklift, I found a crew working in the lumber area and requested help when they were done. After hearing that I'd already been waiting almost a half hour, Jamie came with me to see what it was I was needing, then found the garden forklift and a flaggers, and quickly got the grill down and loaded for me. His willingness to help was the only thing that made the experience worthwhile.

This store has terrible customer service. The associates are too wrapped up in themselves and each other to actually help customers. They’re rude and act as if you’re bothering them during their social time.
