Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened blade on the saw. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
