Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

When is the next free Kids Workshop?
Drop by for the Kids Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on August 3rd, 2024, for this month's project. A simpler and smaller version of the full-size ones, this tiny whiteboard is a great way to encourage creativity, listening abilities, and fine motor skills. Team up with your little ones to make this quick craft while supplies last. Remember to leave some time to draw and share your art with your neighbors!
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice during the holiday season or for any reason. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. Purchase them at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards in-store or use them to shop online with no additional fees.
