Careful buying appliances here
We purchased a washer and dryer from the durango Home Depot, and they were improperly installed from the start. Since then, we’ve been cancelled on twice in a row for the follow-up service that was supposed to fix the bad install. What we’ve learned is that this Home Depot relies on delivery crews from Albuquerque—nearly four hours away—so if anything goes wrong, customers in Durango are essentially left without support.
Now we’re stuck waiting for Home Depot to come back and remove their own incorrectly installed appliances, and they are refusing to release our money until they can eventually schedule a pickup. In other words, customers are expected to pay for Home Depot’s mistakes, while we continue dealing with the fallout of their poor service and lack of accountability.
Dryer vent never connected, hoses all zipped together and twisted up just thrown on top of the machine. Draining errors from washer for obvious reasons and venting errors from the dryer because it wasn't even connected. What a joke.

Caveat Emptor
Waited two weeks to pick up a mobile workbench. Drove 2 1/2 hours to pick it up. It was boxed up... foolishly I didn't ask them to unbox it. Drove home 2 1/2 hours and unboxed it. One corner was smashed in...

I love this Home Depot.
I also am the biggest fan of ACE but sometimes the lil guys don't have what you need. If I can't find it at ACE, this Home Depot is my PLACE.

Zero customer service
I will never return to this store, the employees will literally stand there and watch you struggle to load heavy lumber on your cart. Then on the last piece run over and help, then he smahed my figers bad.

I had to replace our 20 yr gas range. It looks brand new and has features no longer made. She was amazing and patient as I worked through finding another one.

Most employees are great
Some cashiers are just not friendly they need to smile more, thank customer for coming in and at least act like they care -i could do most all my shopping on line i go to store to be treated like I'm special not to be scowled at.

Best Employees, Best Mountain Town

New Washer and Dryer
Purchased a new GE washer and Dryer and know I'll be very happy with it. Had a chance to look over quite a selection of various brands. Have purchased many different items from Home Depot and have always been pleased with my purchases

We found GOLD
Steve and Rona were incredible. If you need help find them, they understand they are there to help and they have great attitudes. I hate going to the Farmington's 2 home centers, they prefer to avoid helping, if you can find anyone.

VERY helpful staff
Shout out to Ronna for going above and beyond to answer our questions and ensure we found what we needed. Although she works in the Garden Dept, she assisted us in hardware and then in Electrical, taking tons of extra time to make sure we were taken care of. Now THAT'S customer service

SO MANY EMPLOYEES SO LITTLE CUSTOMERS SERVICE
I counted at least 20 employees at this Home Depot. I asked three different employees for help and locating a product. All three separately said sorry I can’t help you right now. One actually looked at me and walked away.Did not offer to find somebody else for me. There were two people at the customer service counter. One was helping someone the other was wandering around. Didn’t bother to even look up and say I’ll be with you in a minute. Very, very, very, very, very poor customer service experience.

Your internet web is very inaccurate.
I looked by myself for these lights and could not find them so I finally asked customer service and he said they had none so he ordered one for me. He was very pleasant and didn't understand the poor internet information.

Mediocre experience this last time
I think the service was below average and below what I generally expect at Home Depot. Maybe they are short staffed. But what I ended up buying works well and I am satisfied.

Need more check out personal
The idea that you can spend hundreds of dollars in a store just to find one real cashier and 5-6 self checkout registers leaves a person feeling let down. The interaction with a human being gives you a sense of mattering when you spend hard earned money money at a business.

$1,000 Dishwasher Disaster — No Install, No Accountability, No Return
I am beyond disappointed with my Home Depot experience — and I say this as both a longtime customer and a Home Depot shareholder.
On August 1, 2025, I purchased a dishwasher for over $1,000 — including delivery, professional installation, haul away, and a 5-year extended warranty. The installer showed up but refused to install it, claiming he needed to reschedule. That reschedule never happened.
After several days with zero follow-up, I installed the unit myself. Only then did I discover the dishwasher didn't fit properly — the handle obstructs a cabinet drawer. When I attempted to return it, I was told I was outside the 48-hour return window and that this was “buyer’s remorse.”
Let’s be very clear:
🔹 Home Depot never installed the dishwasher — which means I couldn’t possibly evaluate whether it worked or fit within 48 hours.
🔹 I paid in full for a job Home Depot failed to complete.
🔹 Now I’m being financially punished for something outside of my control.
Worse, I’ve been bounced around between the store, the manufacturer, and online chat — each one telling me to talk to someone else. Zero accountability.
And yes — I still bought a second dishwasher from Home Depot in good faith, hoping someone would make this right.
💬 I am publicly asking Home Depot corporate to step in:
- Pick up this unit
- Refund me in full
- Fix your broken return policy
- Train your staff to resolve problems — not deflect them
This has caused financial harm, wasted hours of my time, and damaged my trust in a company I believed in enough to invest in.
If anyone at Home Depot actually reads these reviews and cares about your brand — contact me. Make this right!!!

Great tools
The tools I got are amazing. However when they were being shipped, they did take damage in the process. I'd only say to work on being more gentle with ordered tools & such.

Buyer Beware
We purchased special order flooring because they would install it. It was scheduled 2 months out because installer was busy. Days before the install we were notified they couldn’t do it and refunded the install labor. We were left with refundable special order flooring and had to pay an independent installer over $2000 more to install it. Fraud on Home Depot’s part…sell flooring with install then don’t install. We would have gone to an independent flooring company had we known we couldn’t trust our local Home Depot

Wasted Time
Every time I go in to the store for an item and the website indicates you have the product in stock you do NOT. For example the website and the employ indicate you had 66 2 X 4 X 10 cedar S4 sides. No one in the store could find them. This wasted my time which I normally get paid for. This happens almost every time I go to the store.

The shopping experience was fine. I purchased a number of bags of concrete mix. I pulled the truck up and started loading them and the guy helping people load their vehicles walked by and said he would be right back to help. He walked away and started talking to someone just coming out of the store. After I finished loading all the bags (about 5 minutes later), he finished talking and asked if there was anything else he could help with. It would have been nice for him to have actually helped in the first place.

Garden center well kept customer service exemplary
I was on an extremely tight time for crunch. The ladies in this department were quick to help me get what I needed wrap up everything so it doesn’t mess up my car and help me be on my way very quickly. They did it with a smile and with even laughter and joking, I really appreciated all of their extra time and care. I’m sure they are underpaid for what they do and they will bring me back again just to see them and shop again.

Fast turnover=less than knowledgeable employees
Your materials get more and more expensive but the quality continually deminishes. Sheet goods are terrible, the to two sheets are horribly wrapped and if you pull those and grab from a few sheets below by the time you get home they look the same as the garbage you culled out. Lumber the same deal....Crap. Quality has gone out the door and now your return policy has tightened up I am quickly running out of reasons to ever step for in another HD.

Post COVID malaise.
Maybe it’s a lingering affect from COVID, maybe good help is hard to find. I find the employees either not knowing how to interact with customers or they just do not care and are only there to collect a check.
