What should I bring when moving into my college dorm?
Come see us for your college dorm essentials. Use storage containers or moving boxes to transport your belongings, and disinfecting wipes and cleaning supplies to sanitize the space. Bring a tub of spackle to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights and wall art. Extension cords and power strips let you place floor lamps, countertop microwaves, and mini fridges where you need them. If you didn't get a new bookbag or underbed storage yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head back to college with helpful products from your Fairbanks Home Depot.
What do I do to prepare my home for scorching summer temps?
Be confident your home is set for summertime temps by replacing or repairing faulty components of your hardscaping and home. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your house, inspect roof shingles or metal roofing for rust or damage that may let water seep in. Keep gutters clear and functional to keep rain overflow from backing up into your home when storms arrive. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're in poor condition.
Do you offer moving boxes?
Make your move easier by picking up a variety of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you're searching for, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion any and all items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Remember to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those as well.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
Restore power in your home even after severe weather takes it out. We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When searching for generators, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window when you can view human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cameras even let you chat remotely via your phone, a useful interaction for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
Which project will be featured at the free Kids Workshop?
Don't miss our Kids Workshop to encourage future builders and craftspeople! Introduce your children to the joys of building with this school bus organizer. Constructing a colorful organizer is a great way to hone fine motor skills, creativity, and listening abilities. This fun kids' project is happening on 9/5/2026, from 9–12 noon or while supplies last.
