How can I fix drafty windows?
If your windows need replacing but you need to make it through the winter first, seal them up tight for best results. Caulk the gaps, then seal the entire window using a window insulation kit with plastic film and a hair dryer. Add fabric insulation snakes along the bottom for extra warmth. Finally, trap and warm the air around the windows with blackout curtains or heavy drapes. Replace the windows as soon as possible.

What are good wintertime DIY projects?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, it may be a great time to clean up your home instead. A few days cleaning the basement or garage will pay off when the weather warms. You won't have to replace lost power tools with new ones because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning tools, and you'll be ready when the cold moderates and the sun comes out.

How can chainsaws help with yard and tree cleanup?
When the weather warms with the spring air, clean up unwanted shrub branches and garden debris. A Dewalt chainsaw can help this job go quicker than it would be by hand. Check that the chain is oiled, sharpened, properly tensioned, and all the safety mechanisms are functional. Then once you've refreshed your chainsaw knowledge, start chopping off fallen branches, shaping bushes, and cutting out tangled weeds and vines.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the Hialeah Gardens Home Depot?
Yes, the Hialeah Gardens store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. You may reserve your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to order your kit.

How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Stop losing customers
I have been waiting for 45 minutes to be taken care of at the paint department. I have spoken to several associates who state they can’t help us. They have called the person in charge through the communicating system at the store 7 times by now and all someone came to say was the person was at lunch and at this time we still haven’t been able to buy our paint. It has been now over 45 mins. They don’t have enough personal is what they have been saying, i assume because home depot can’t pay to more of them. However, while i waited you lost 5 customers in the span of 45 minutes. So you can’t pay more staff because you are losing customers. I have had this home depot at the top of my list always. Sorry to say it no longer is. It’s been an hour and 11 mins and now i have finally been taken care of by someone who says is not the one in charge of the paint department, has no name tag and no uniform.

Best Customer Service I have seen in a while
A young man by the name of Gabriel rendered the best customer service that I haven't seen in a while. This associate went above and beyond to the call of Customer Service, he didn't make me wait that long, under 7 minutes he was back to the self check-out area with the merchandise I was looking for and additional merchandise to fill in the gaps in the secure cabinet. Excellent communication skills and lots of common sense (which is almost lost nowadays). He helps each customer differently but with the same consistency of getting a smile at the end of each customers shopping experience. I analyze this with the customer in front of me, with me and the one after me. Keep up the same attitude always, never change and if you change...change for the better. Thank you, Gabriel!

            Rude / Unhelpful Cashier
Cashier in garden was rude and unhelpful to myself and then the next person got the same treatment as I did. All this was done while her daughter 20+ age (non-employee of Home Depot) was standing next to check out. All this happened in front of Asst. Manager. The Asst. Manager was helpful and tried to make things right, but still did not do anything about employee’s daughter 20+ age standing at check out and seeing all transactions of customers.

Rude employees that won't even attempt to help you unless you speak Spanish, sad customer service. The person that hired these individuals should be retrained themselves. Wow, what poor attitudes, worst customer service, you don't expect a red carpet treatment, but come on show a little common courtesy.
