When it's time to make the leap into a new home improvement project, you might not have everything you need in the garage or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Highlands Ranch Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Highlands Ranch Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent what you need and bring them back when the job is done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to blow leaves away. Fall will be here before you know it, so have a leaf blower at the ready. It's far less work than raking. It's also easier on hardscaping surfaces, driveways, and concrete sidewalks. Clear your yard by using handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation helps keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Heaters
If you don't like working or being outside in the cold, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We carry propane, gas, and electric heaters in various sizes. Couple this with nice outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks and Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you have a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to ask about a large equipment, tool, or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We do not accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
