Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

What's the most popular Halloween decor?
Many families love Halloween and decorating with pumpkins, werewolves, witches, and of course, skeletons. Our ever-popular Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton, is ready to haunt your front yard. We've got Skelly dress-up accessories and a skeleton dog to keep him company. Create a graveyard with tombstones, fake spiderwebs, a fog machine, and plenty of graveyard bones and inhabitants. Halloween inflatables and animatronics are a quick and easy way to add spooky spirit when searching for outdoor Halloween decorations, too.
Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, severe thunderstorms, or blizzards, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When considering different generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for major repairs down the line. On the outside of your home, examine roof shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Check bricks and cinder block for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, replace chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're in poor condition.
How can I make more space for the holidays?
As you prepare for the holidays, make extra space with storage solutions. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Shield fragile items with moving blankets. Shoe racks and other storage containers remove summer belongings from the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular present for any special occasion or during the holiday season. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit the Hilltown Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
