Can I rent a flatbed truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, pickup truck, or cargo van. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also visit our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is offered at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing your vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
