The Home Depot offers flexible mulch delivery options nationwide based on your order size. For small orders, we can deliver via car for a $3 fee. As orders grow to medium-sized, we switch to a van for a $35 fee. For massive jobs, we have a fleet of flatbeds and box trucks ready to deliver to your job site for a $79 fee. Do you offer self-pickup for mulch orders?
Yes, you can pick up your mulch in your own vehicle. Even better, we're happy to help if you need it. After you buy mulch in-store or online with store pickup, go to the mulch loading zone or drive-thru if your store has one. An Orange Apron can load your small-to-medium mulch order directly into your truck or SUV. For very large orders of bagged mulch or yard mulch, delivery is easiest.
How can I get small batches of mulch delivered?
If you have a small bagged mulch order, you can get it delivered to your door via a store-fulfilled local delivery service that uses third-party drivers. Your mulch will arrive in a standard van or car for just a $3 delivery fee. Bulk mulch, also called loose or yard mulch, will come in a truck. If you order a specific number of bags, you may qualify for free delivery. That threshold varies from store to store, but you'll be able to verify the cost at checkout.
How much mulch qualifies for large truck or flatbed delivery?
When you're ordering huge quantities of loose mulch or pallets of bagged mulch, you'll be looking at box truck or flatbed delivery. Often, these are landscapers, Pro customers, or serious DIYers working on a major landscaping project. There's usually a delivery fee and minimum pallet order. Orders that pass a threshold may qualify for free delivery.
What should I do about weeds in my garden?
Weeds are likely poking through in the garden beds, even if you put down mulch or a landscape fabric liner to keep them at bay. Pull out weeds from the root in vegetable gardens, and dig up the roots if the weed snaps off without them. Be sure to get them before the weeds' flowers dry out and drop their seeds. If you'd like to treat weeds with weed killer, check that it's safe for bees, other pollinators, and pets — and wear a respirator and heavy rubber gloves to ensure that it doesn't irritate your skin or lungs.
How do I fix burnt grass?
The solution for how to get burnt grass green again is easy: Fix the scorched spot with a lengthy drink. Continue to water it regularly. It should perk up within the next week. The method for treating grass damaged by dog urine isn't as straightforward. Grass damaged by pets must be removed, neutralized, and replaced in fresh soil with new grass or patch and repair grass seed.
How often should I water my garden?
If you can water at least once a day, close to sunrise or sunset, that's ideal. When it's the height of summer, twice is better. Keep Your Lawn Tidy
As the weeks tick by, the sod or grass seed you planted will grow taller than what's ideal. Eventually, it'll need some maintenance to look manicured and fresh. Keep the lawn in check with a riding lawn mower and a string trimmer to knock down any tall grass around fences, buildings, or sidewalks.
Trees, shrubs, and bushes climb toward the sun and lose their shape over time. They'll be growing fast, filled with blooms before you know it. Trim wild branches to the shape and size you want with garden shears and hedge trimmers.
