Always get the help I need
I recently went to the Home Depot in Norwood MA to purchase a replacement Axe Handle after my local store in Mansfield MA did not have any in stock. Luckily, Norwood had plenty. While I was there, I realized that I could use a few extra hooks for the Gladiator Garage system I had just ordered online from HomeDepot.com and installed. I was having trouble locating these items so a sales associated noticed I was looking for something and approached me to offer assistance. I expalined what I was looking for and he proceeded to walk with me to the two locations where they might be stocked. Unfortunately, after checking both locations, it was determined that this system and its components are an "online only" product. At least he helped me figure that out quickly vs me spending more time to roam the store looking for something that wasn't there. After paying for the axe handle and a few additional replacement wooden handles, I went home and ordered the hooks/parts I needed from Home Depot on line. They were still on sale (30% off) and arrived a few days later. I am very satisfied with the help and service that I received.

Plenty of stock, inconsistent customer service
This Home Depot has plenty of stock in all its departments, but: 1) not everything is arranged in a logical manner, 2) the aisles are frequently cluttered, 3) there are very few associates to help find things and they don't always know where to look, but some won't admit it. That said, there are some knowledgeable associates most of whom are friendly. I like being able to check out by myself. It's usually faster (there are 4 self-checkout registers) because I generally am buying very few things. Bottom line: if you know exactly what you need and where to find it, it will probably be on the shelf, and the prices are usually competitive.

My experience with the millwork department
I received a Return Merchandise Authorization from Andersen for a defective storm door. I went to the store and after waiting about 10 minutes, an associate appeared and I explained my interest in replacing my storm door. I handed him my RMA that I received from Andersen. I mentioned that an Andersen representative mailed it to me and said I should present the RMA to the millwork department of the store where I purchased the door and millwork should order the replacement door. When the door arrives, I am to bring in the defective door and an exchange of the defective door for the replacement door should take place. The associate pulled a folder out of a desk draw and called a number he found in the folder. When he finished the short call, he said "bring in the door and then we will order a replacement and it will arrive in about 14 days." I told him what I was instructed to do and that they are to order the door. He just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing.
I called Andersen customer service and they said he did not follow the procedure. Andersen called the millwork manager and explained to him the procedure. I look forward to returning to the store with the RMA and maybe this time this customer will be satisfied.
It was perfectly clear that he had absolutely no interest in customer service procedures. He was as disinteresting in this customer's plight as any person could be. He had no interest in being the least bit helpful.

Good store but could use some improvement.
The store is clean but it took me a while to find the items I was interested in purchasing. It also took about five minutes to find an associate to ask about those products. While selecting the items no associate was in the area to help. My purchase was window air conditioners, at this time of the year they should be in the summer seasonal area but the were near tool rental area.

I don't like this particular store
This store is darker than other stores and is a bit more crowded. Not as clean as other HD's. Watch where a product is stacked in relation to the price tags. Not always a match. A lot of products not in stock. This store has a more difficult time than others anticipating demand.

Always a good experience at this store.
I am a frequent visitor to this store. I always find what I'm looking for, and the layout of products is customer friendly. Most times when I walk in the door, I'm greeted by a sales associate who asks if I need help finding anything. This also happens when I'm in the store, an associate coming up to me asking did I find everything. The associates are always extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell management places a high emphasis on customer service. This store is a pleasure to shop in.

Bruce Gimler is the best, I would trust him explicitly, he teaches you about the product and never tries to sway you either way , that is what I liked
I love Home Depot especially this store. The reason I am participating is because I think Bruce Gimler deserves the recognition of an exceptional employee ! He is approachable, knowledgable, and takes his time explaining the new appliances vs. the old machines. He is very patient and knows his stuff, he answered every question we had, with the same enthusiasm as when he said hello, even though we did not purchase the machine that day.
We eventually went with the newest technology that is water efficient. It was delivered today but could not be hooked up because the drainage hose was way to short. I knew exactly where to go, find Bruce and that is what I did. He took me upstairs and showed me the machine and then confirmed the type of hose.
I trusted him to find the products I would need to install my new machine.
It is rare these days when you find a good customer representative and you get personal customer service above and beyond the scope of their job but that is what Bruce Gimler does everyday. He walked me to the register and told me if I run into any problems, come back in the morning and he will do his best to rectify it.
I didin't have any problems but I am sure if I did he would find a solution, with a smile on his face.
Did I mention how pleasant he is, again "rare", he really cares and it shows. You are extremely lucky to have him representing Home Depot !
