When it's time to make the leap into a new DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the garage or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Paramount Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Paramount Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent the tools you need and bring them back when you're done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to blow away leaves. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower ready. It's far less work than raking them into piles. It's also easier on driveways, concrete sidewalks, and hardscaping surfaces. Clear your yard by using backpack, walk-behind, or handheld leaf blowers.
Generators
Whether you're running a large welding machine or working in a remote location, you'll likely need to rent a generator. Generators also keep basic electrical appliances running when there's a power outage. Make life easier during fieldwork or after extreme weather knocks out power to your home.
Heaters
If you dislike working or being outside in cooler temps, check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We offer gas, propane, and electric heaters in various sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening hours.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds and cargo vans ready for rental. Although availability varies by store, we have a selection ranging from pickups to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please reach out to your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to ask about a large equipment, tool, or truck. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I need to return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened one. As there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Some tools and large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prep your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to one of our knowledgeable associates for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
