Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut down energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.

What are some Halloween ideas for indoor and outdoor decoration?
Start with general Halloween decorations. Then, narrow down if you want indoor vs outdoor Halloween decor, scary vs kid-friendly options, or classic Halloween decorations vs fall ones. Halloween animatronics and inflatables offer a quick solution for instant spirit. You can even have both scary and sweet elements with wreaths that combine fall and holiday elements in Halloween wreaths.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make before winter?
Make sure your home is ready for winter weather by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine roof shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be changed if they're damaged.
What are some storage options for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow what you don't need to enjoy extra space. Shoe racks and other storage bins remove summer belongings from the equation. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Shield fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've been waiting for.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present during the holiday season or for any reason. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. Purchase gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you're a recipient, you can visit the Patchogue West Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
