Upon entering the plant section it was like I entered a tropical forest!! Lots of fun, interesting plants to choose from!

Every time I go to the Portsmouth store, everyone seems so pleasant. They all stream willing to lend a hand as to wear products are and take the time to greet you and find out what your working on even making suggestions on other products that you might need to make the job go easier.

Patty at Pro Desk was a life saver! Our original window company went out of business, without notice, and she spent so much time researching with us new windows, skirting, siding and found us an installer to ensure we wouldn't have a frozen stripped boarded up winter!

Save yourself a trip and check on line to be sure the item you want is carried in store and in stock. After you purchase on line they will send it to store for pick up. If it turns out not to be what you want, you can exchange it right there.

they have been so helpful in all the departments that i used. we are remodeling our summer home and have to do it ourselves to save money.

I purchased a soft close toilet seat for one of our bathrooms a month or so ago. It worked perfectly so I decided to buy another one for our other bathroom. I was able to get the exact same one at my recent visit to Home Depot. It was easy to install and it is working great.

All too often I look up a product online. It tells me there’s sufficient stock in the store and I get there and there is none or there are two few or nobody can find them. That is assuming I am even able to find someone to help. This is a CHRONIC problem.

The woman at the customer service counter is rude and unhelpful. The register did not print out my receipt and I went to customer service for help. She was dismissive and rude and said that the store was having systems problems and I should come back tomorrow!!!

I enjoy shopping here because of the reasonable prices!

Never seem to have the size and quantity of what I need.

Very disappointed in the service, asked for help in finding said toilet, gentleman said he would be back, never came. I understand the situation you guys are in with employees, that was ridiculous

I have worked with Shawna in the home decorating department on several occasions, and she always goes above and beyond. Very knowledgeable about the window treatment business and will take the extra time to see if there are any additional discounts she can offer. Overall, a great experience with her every time I go there. A true asset to Home Depot.

Employees, more of them in the busy seasons to help with customers pick and unload and load their vehicles

I went to the ProDesk four times over the weekend and it was never staffed. Finally got someone on Monday who didn’t greet me, was rude, not helpful in my asking for help with an order. I took my $2.5k order to the Somersworth store and got great customer service and actual help. Take the extra 15 minutes and go to Somersworth if you want to work with professionals.

I was looking for a plumbing fitting; I had brought in the part I wanted to ensure the fitting would match. I found two fittings (one I had found online, the other while looking at the store) yet the part I really wanted would only work with one end of the fitting. One of the HD employees checked to ensure the part was OK (using a mounted fitting guide which I had totally missed seeing) and it worked fine, so it must have been something to do with the part I brought in. This is not the first time an employee has come to my "rescue"; they are very friendly and helpful.

I’ve seen an improvement in the quality of the lumber in stock. I drove from York Maine to Portsmouth to purchase “Premium” 2”x4”x8’ and 2”x4”x12’ lumber for a special project. These units were straight and high quality which blew me away.

Very helpful people who wanted to make sure we got what we needed.

Darleen is very helpful, and I was very happy to see an old HD friend of ours, Brian, who has been with you for over 27 years. I asked him if he owned the store after all these years, he smiled and said, Not yet, Woody.

I worked with a great professional (Mike Laflamme) in your flooring Department. He was so helpful, patient, courteous, and knowledgeable . In fact we are getting a quote this Saturday. These days, it’s rare to go into a store and get impeccable service from the moment you walk through the door unto you cash out. This is the service I received with your store. Thank you!

Recently worked with Alex to design and purchase kitchen cabinets. Alex was everything you want in a kitchen designer. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, calm, patient, with a very good sense of humor, really listens to find out what you like, but will also provide input as to what options there are and what works well and looks good. Highly recommend!

The contractor parking had materials that would not be used this time of year to prevent parking in contractor parking area. Very different than the helpful setup in Rochester.

My Home Depot experience was great — several people helped me with the different choices and the self check out person was outstanding!!

After the great help that I received from Shawna I will always go to this Home Depot and hopefully she’s working when I’m in the store. I’ve never received any help like this before and I hope everyone could take a page from out of her book to go above and beyond for the customer. Sonja

I have no problem with expensive things being locked up with display models available for inspection but I find this recent trend of locking up everything without display models (e.g. all Ryobi lawn and garden tools) to be difficult. If I didn't have so much already invested in Ryobi cordless tools, I would go to a different brand with better availability for inspection.

A washing machine was delivered by a Home Depot subcontractor to my home in Southwest Harbor, Maine on November 2, 2024. The two men who delivered were friendly, on time, and VERY careful of everything. I couldn't be happier with their service.

On my recent visit to the Portsmouth NH Home Depot, I had an uncomfortable experience with one of the security guards. After purchasing a small item priced around $6 and leaving the store, the guard approached me outside and asked me to provide my receipt. I noticed he wasn’t doing this with other customers, which made me feel unfairly targeted. I believe this extra scrutiny was likely due to my appearance “skin color”, as I felt singled out and judged. It was disappointing to feel this way in a place where I usually feel comfortable shopping. I hope Home Depot will take steps to ensure all customers feel welcomed and respected in their stores.”

The associates were able to point me in the correct position for several items I was searching for. One of the items needed had a recent price reduction. The friendly checkout associate applied my gift card to my balance and I was on my way.

I've been working on a renovation and I work on the house durning the day and make my list of supplies while working. After work, I go on line and order my stuff and on the way to the site the next day I quickly pick up my order- perfect!
