As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

This store cannot cut boards to length properly. The cut off saw was off 1/2" can cut 61" boards ...
This store cannot cut boards to length properly. The cut off saw was off 1/2" can cut 61" boards requested as 60.5". Recalibrate the saw table and stop wasting customers' precious time! I had to tell the assistant to cut the boards to 61.5 inches to get the 61" length required which he could not figure out on his own. That cost HD another 4 wasted board cuts that were too short before I explained how to compensate for their saw table error. The store should be able to cut a board to within a 1/8" of a requested length. This is embarrassing to the Home Depot and a very poor customer relations policy shortfall. The 1 star rating applies to this service and not all aspects of the store.

What I needed (storm windows) was right there in the size I needed at a reasonable price. When I reached my car with the windows, a Home Depot person was right behind me. He told me that he was there to help me load my car--a pleasant surprise. It took some squeezing, but we got the windows into the back seat. HOORAY!

    Understanding the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I walked into the store with ample amount of empathy. An associate at one point waved over to me and my sister (who were getting stock for my dad, who is an electrician, before the COVID-19 shut down tomorrow) and said "I don't understand why people (gesturing to us) are here buying random things." I let that slide, again, this pandemic makes us all say things that are out of fear. What happened is this: I was to buy 12 (twelve) specific overhead lights. We found them easily, and as I was counting out the ones I needed, an associate sees I am grabbing the lights, and as I am doing so, cuts in front of where my sister and I were standing and took the remainder of the stock. This happened as my hand was on the box that had the remainder of the stock. I would have appreciated an "excuse me," or an explanation to why he took the lights that were in my hand. I brushed it off, as maybe it was for an online order. I asked that same employee if there were any of those specific lights left and he said no. He offered a replacement, and put them in my hand, but they were not the ones I needed. I accepted this fact and took what I had grabbed and went on my way to checkout. In the self-checkout, I am scanning my items and the same associate (his name was Dave) without addressing me, takes two more lights from my cart. I ask him to put it back, he says "No, but take these as replacements." I say, politely, "These are not the ones I need. I need these (the original ones I intended on buying) specific lights." He replied "Take these, they are the same thing." I assured him they are not the same thing. They are similar, but not the ones my dad needed for the job. Dave did not take no for an answer and put the ones he had as a replacement in our cart and walked away. We scan the replacements and see that they are $10 more expensive. My sister goes to find Dave, to see what we can do about the price difference, and he is assisting a couple. She patiently waits beside Dave to ask about the price discrepancy. Dave then sees her, and stands directly in front of her to block her from their conversation. She is finally able to speak with Dave, who says "we'll honor the lower price," and starts to walk away again. She stops him and asks "How? I would appreciate if you helped us." He tells her to call a number and say "Dave said to honor the price." The associate at the self checkout (very kind, but in the chaos of all this I didn't catch her name) did honor the price. The manner in which Dave treated my sister and I, as if we couldn't tell the difference between the two lights (we can, and we could then), and taking items from our cart AS we are purchasing them was very inappropriate and unprofessional. To do it not once, but twice, was unacceptable. I would've understood if when we were originally in the bay/aisle he let us know what was going on or why he had to take the entire stock off the shelf as I am grabbing them, but his manner of dismissiveness made the trip overall very poor. I hope this was an isolated incident, or that we caught Dave on an off day, because that behavior made me and my sister feel very uncomfortable and off-put.

    After checking availability by phone, I purchased a GE Microwave oven at the store. I was disappointed to find that it was missing a turntable, instruction booklet, and had obviously been returned by another customer. I called the store and one of the managers immediately rectified the situation by securing another unit from another store and delivering it the next morning, unpacking it and taking back the used one. Sales associates and management at the Reading store are always extremely helpful, pleasant, and go the extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied.
