Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?
This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

How can I fix drafty windows?
If your windows need replacing but you need to make it through the winter first, seal them up tight for best results. Caulk the gaps, then seal the window using a window insulation kit with plastic film and a hair dryer. Add fabric insulation snakes along the bottom for extra warmth. Finally, trap and warm the air around the windows with blackout curtains or heavy drapes. Replace the windows as soon as possible.
What are good wintertime DIY projects?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, it may be a great time to clean up your home and indoor workspaces instead. A weekend organizing the basement or garage will pay off when the weather warms. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.
How can chainsaws help with tree and yard cleanup?
Use chainsaws to remove broken or dead branches from trees. Trimming damaged wood keeps your trees healthier. Oil up your Ryobi chainsaw before using it, and swap out any dull or rusted chains. Unless you're a trained arborist, please leave large tree removal to the pros. Trees already on the ground can be cut into smaller pieces and hauled away.
Are Kids Workshops offered at the Santa Fe, NM Home Depot?
Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. Each month features a unique and exciting new kit pack to keep little doers engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check availability of the kits.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent choice for housewarming parties, birthdays, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. They can be purchased at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.

Great staff
Always find what I need, with assistance from staff. Store is clean, organized, and well stocked. Management at this store clearly care.

    Out of stock/closes early
A few of the products I wanted were out of stock, even though their website said they had them. In addition to that, when I went there to specifically buy a combo kit as a present for someone the entire tool aisle was closed. The store closes at 10pm, but apparently their entire tool aisle closes sometime before 8m when I arrived. Why have a HARDWARE store open if I can buy the wood but not the tools to do anything with it?
      Customer service
Customer service here sucks! Wasted 2 hours just to pick up a kitchen faucet
        Needed help
David provided me excellent service. Best experience ever

Horrible store among the other Home Depots.
Though there is an economic slowdown, this particular store seems to be horribly mismanaged. There is a huge disconnect between what they claim is in stock online and what's actually available. This particular store seems to stock much less than competing stores, or even other Home Depots.

Angelica gave the most up top customers service on helping us thank you

What a cluster. Avoid if possible.
                Needs Help
I have shopped your stores in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Amarillo. Waxahatchie and others I do not readily remember. The Santa Fe store does not equal the service & stocked items that the other stores have. So, to answer the question at the bottom of my receipt, NO YOU DID NOT NAIL IT.
I get all the support to feel like a handyperson
Santa Fe home Depot employees have been very helpful to me through my many visits especially during pandemic. They have helped a novice with much needed help to get small projects accomplished. I am grateful.
