I had a key made in the evening around 7:00 pm. The store was a little quiet, since it was really cold outside. The person who helped me with having a key made was friendly. I wish they had a wider selection of character keys, that is why I didn't give it 5 stars. The cashier was friendly, even though it was 7:00 pm.

Our kitchen cabinet designer, was professional and knowledgeable in every way. His courtesy and can-do attitude led to a positive experience. each time I go to the Springfield Home Depot, I have good experiences from other associates on the sales floor as well. The store is well-staffed, well-stocked, and a pleasure to shop at.

Let me first say that the store is good. You can find everything you're looking for here. It is a hardware/lumber/appliance store so expect some clutter. No worries. The employees are nice and understanding. Most important they are knowledgeable of the products in the store and where they are located in said store. They will also recommend products that they know work properly. They won't steer you in the wrong direction.

This is my local Home Depot. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. They work very well together as a team. If one person does not know the answer to my question, they contact another co-worker who does know the answer. They always seem to go the extra mile to insure you have a very positive retail experience.

Having lived in the Springfield area since 1998, this Home Depot is my "go to" when I need anything. I attempt to fix/restore/improve anything I can on my own, so that, along with a flooded basement in 2015 from a pipe break behind the wall just above the circuit box was one of those times. Homeowners insurance doesn't always compensate you for the restoration you really need, so I chose to take that money, buy additional tools myself, and attempt to restore and improve my basement. As a 62 year old woman, with the help of my daughter at times, I frequented the Springfield Home Depot hundreds of times during this 2 year process. Everything from the ceiling, lights, walls, carpet, and personal belongings were destroyed. So in an effort to save money, I began by tearing down the ceiling, removing the carpet and padding which was under water, bought a moisture meter and began doing repairs to the walls in the main room as well as the hallway where water rushed down and into all closets, the bathroom, the mechanical room, and under the wall and into my garage very quickly. When I was about to tackle the painted brick fireplace, I went to home depot to ask an employee in the tile area which kind of board I needed, the kind of screws I would need to reface the brick to the ceiling as well as the hearth. I returned to Home Depot to the tool department because I had great difficult drilling holes for screws through the board and brick - I got a hammer drill. That made that task a BIT easier, but cutting that board & screwing it into brick was difficult for me. I went back for stacked tile and got tips from the tile dept on chalk marking the wallboard faced brick. to make sure the tile was level and straight and I began in the middle. I went back to Home Depot and bought a compound miter saw and a wet saw to help with this project. With the carpet gone, and walls repaired and painted, I bought white cabinets from Home Depot with the help of a friendly man in that department, and placed them from the fireplace wall/hearth to the opposite wall on both sides, adding lots of storage. I put butcher block counter tops on and finished them with .polyurethane. Again, making the most of my basement, I removed the triangular wall under the staircase going up to the kitchen, walled that area off inside and under the stairs and placed a Home Depot cabinet in there as well as the large, deep closet across the hall. I bought recessed lighting from Home Depot. Taking the ceiling (with textured paint) down was a monster of a project-it doesn't come down in 4 x 8 foot sheets, but small chunks, but I finished that, removed all remaining nails, and returned to Home Depot to buy the wallboard for the ceiling as well as all the places at the bottom of walls that had moisture. Taking advantage of the open ceiling, we decided to re-run cable for various things on other floors and returned to Home Depot and got amazing help from them, bought more tools and supplies, and began that project. I laid a vapor barrier on top of the concrete and laminate flooring next and used the compound miter saw from Home Depot to do that project. I then bought crown moulding, baseboard and quarter round for the entire basemen from Home Depot. I returned to Home Depot VERY often for things in the paint department as well as wall patching supplies. Every time I've gone to the Springfield Home Depot, whether it was to return items, find items, ask advice for purchases, get advice on "how-to" projects, electrical advice, lighting, kitchen appliances, cabinets for the basement, flooring, etc., the employees have always been friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to assist me. The basement project took me about 18 months, so going to Home Depot was often a weekly outing. It was comforting to know that if I got stuck and couldn't determine how to do something and what tools I needed, I could go to Home Depot and be assured that I would get guidance from the friendly employees there. My projects continued on other floors where I renovated a bathroom and tiled all walls to the ceiling around the tub & halfway up on the remaining walls, then a new toilet, cabinet and sink top, wall cabinet and mirror, faucets for the shower, bath, and sink-all from Home Depot-same with the bathroom in the basement-everything from Home Depot. Again, I needed advice on how to cut curved trim tiles for inside and outside corners. With their advice and the use of the wet saw I purchased at Home Depot, I finally got that project done. The basement still needs some work on the ceiling and crown moulding, but I moved forward and purchased a suite of Samsung kitchen appliances on Black Friday and was again approached by a very helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable employee to help me determine the difference between Samsung and LG, & I liked the Samsung better, so that's coming next. I do need new kitchen cabinets and counter tops, but they will come when I can manage that. I have all the tools needed to remove the existing cabinets, countertops and soffit and I'm looking forward to that. I have purchased all new lighting in oil rubbed bronze for my foyer, kitchen and office and needed to hire an electrician to hang the one in my 23 foot foyer. Although he did that, I bought a "do everything" ladder and was able to paint the ceiling, crown moulding, plaster medaliion, and walls from floor to ceiling - 23 feet high and a curved staircase - a frightening experience, but I always had the comfort of knowing Home Depot was 5 minutes away as I needed supplies-they had many handy things I could use for this task to prevent going up/down the ladder lots of times. I've learned an awful lot as this project has gone on and I've become better at doing work that is normally done by men. I'm proud of the fact that I was a 62 year old female and it was frequently odd for the male employees I encountered during this long period to know that a woman was tackling all this work - but many of them came to recognize my face and ask "what I was tackling today" when they saw me. So, whether it was plumbing advice, tiles, flooring, tools to add to my collection, or merely returning items I didn't need, I never encountered anything other than employees eager to assist, asked me if I needed help, guidance on appropriate tools for different jobs, or cabinets, I had the comfort of knowing help was 5 minutes away. Tackling a flood in the basement was a huge undertaking for me - about 18 months so far, but I wanted to take advantage of the situation by improving the basement I had. So, I've been to the Springfield Home Depot hundreds of times in the last 2 years just for this project. Although there are other home improvement stores not that far away, I am more comfortable with the Springfield Home Depot because of the employees and my ease in locating what I need when I get there. I'm happy to share that although I'm not sure how much money I've spent, I had my home appraised and it went up $100,000 in value after my renovations. I know I have a handful of projects left before I reach a point of "satisfaction" with my home, but I have all the tools I need, advice and supplies 5 minutes away at Home Depot. Its been a great learning experience and people who see the inside of my garage are shocked that a 62 year old woman has so many tools and power equipment. But, with Home Depots constant support and guidance, my home is coming ever closer to completion. Thank you, Springfield Home Depot!

I visit this store pretty often. A pretty good and neat store. Not every associate approaches you or asks for help. Few that I've asked for assistance, per nice and helpful. Mudher from the Garden Dept. has been very helpful. He helped me on few occasions throughout the store. Been visiting Home Depot all throughout the spring/summer. At least once a week including every weekend as I have been doing yard work and house repairs. It gets exhausting at time, but Mudher made a few of those trips much easier with his assistance and suggestions.

Springfield, VA Home Depot employees go above and beyond the call of duty. Any time I've had an issue, and I've had some extremely difficult issues like returning an item 9 months after I ordered it online, but the employees never gave up trying to get my account credited, they totally worked til they got to the bottom of it, and it involved a great deal of work, even had to call technical support.
