Can I rent a moving truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, pickup truck, or cargo van. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is available at your favorite store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you select a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
