Yellow LED on indicates low concentration of gas. Low gas concentration: between (20±5)% LEL and (50±10)% LEL
cool story. so, what's your question?
Yes this will detect propane.
This unit is not guaranteed to detect freon.
This device will only detect gas that is coming in contact with the sensor at the tip of the unit.
As the person above said, in windy conditions you will find it more difficult to detect a reading as the diffusion of the gas will be much faster. Be sure to get as close as possible to the source and so long as the concentration is above (20±5)% LEL, which translates to about 10,000ppm of methane, 4,200ppm of propane, and 3,600ppm of butane. More information can be found here https://www.wermac.org/safety/safety_what_is_lel_and_uel.html .The units can detect gas under these concentrations, but the unit will only initially alarm when (20±5)% LEL is reached.
I would say yes, But I'm not shore how good it will work if it is very windy, The closer you put it to the source the better it will work out side. I can say it defiantly pick up the odder of natural gas. This unit will work for Minimum detection 200 PPM / There are other that (THD) sale that are Minimum detection 5 PPM But that one is about 232.00.
This was made in China.
The instructions cover this, but I'm pretty sure that it blinks as it is testing the air, and it turns solid color and beeps when the gas is detected. If you have a natural gas or propane range or furnace, you can test it there and see how it reacts. If you've already tried that unsuccessfully, try removing the battery (a reboot) and try it again. I hope that this helps you out.
