Lights worked saying it's operating normal but it wasn't detecting gas leaks. I bought a cheaper model that worked fine.

I smelled gas in my house, but could not tell where it was coming from. Tried the old soap in a squirt bottle and still could not find the leak. I went on line to see if I could find something that would help and came across the General Company's "Gas Seeker". After reading mostly good reviews on the product, I thought I would give it a try.Simple and easy to use. Just push the button, let it warm up and simply pass it over your gas pipes and it will beep and show two different lights if it detects any gas. One light for a small slow leak and another for a larger leak. I found the first leak right away, so I kept checking more gas connections and found four more leaks!. It was money well spent and the price reasonable.

My neighbor and I each used it to check our house/furnace/water heaters. It did not indicate any leak. (Hopefully the device is working as it is supposed to (LOL)).

Had it for 3 months and it quit working. Changed batteries twice with no change. It would power on and calibrate. Then shut off immediately afterwards. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand. I definitely do not recommend this tool...

The gas sniffer worked very well.

It did detect Natural gas but it wasn’t instantaneous. To test I turned the gas on to one of the burners on my range. I could smell gas instantly but it took approximately 20 sec to be detected.

This tool can "barely" detect natural gas. If I turn the stove burner on and place the detector where it can "feel the breeze" of gas it detects gas. Otherwise, no.

This tool could be a Life safer someday.

I ordered and waited 7 days to received the unit. I installed the batteries as instructed and the unit never seems to indicate the flashing green light (every 2 seconds per the instruction) and it detects nothing. I can smell some gas odor, but this unit doesn't seem to work out of the box - perhaps I got a lemon unit. Will be returning to HD. Would not recommend it.

It woks very well and costs a fraction of similar tools.

Very easy to operate. I detected the Gas Leake within minutes, I consider this tool literally life saving.

This is my 2nd one that I purchased from home depot 1st one was about 5 years ago and I have used it dozens and dozens of time it is a really good gas leak detector worked every time that I used it. It found lots of gas leaks for me testing our extended family's homes. ( A really must own item ) P.S. I do not leave batteries in the unit I remove them each time when I am done testing.

I have never used a gas detector before. Since I am not a professional installer, I decided this one was in the price range of my needs.I took it out of the box, installed batteries and went through the initialization setup and held it near an unlit stove burner. It seems to work as promised.

Easy to use. Gives instant results, all I needed when we unhooked old stove and hooked up new stove.

Bought one , didnt work. Even turned propane and. Atural gas on , still didnt work. Returned it , got another ... same. Garbage !!
