Yes. The handle I received with the drill is pretty substantial. Big enough to get a grip on. Great drill, by the way.

Thank you for your question, but we will require more specific information in order to provide an answer. Call the Makita Call Center during business hours at (800)4-MAKITA, they’re based in Buford, GA and are ready to help.
Yes, and no. The Makita angle drill handles bits with up to a 3/8" shaft. It is powerful enough to auger holes but it may not "buzz right through" as you wish. If you allow the drill to work without forcing it, it will do the job. If speed is indeed your primary concern, and you have a lot of holes to drill as you say, you might do better to buy a 1/2' contractors right angle drill. Some models do not cost that much more. I will say, having both types, that my contractors drills gather dust while I reach for this Makita all the time. It has more power than a battery powered drill and it is small and light enough to get into places where conventional drills cannot. I have yet to find a job where it is over-matched.
From the label: 120 volt 4 amp. Great drill, by the way. Compact and light weight. Fits in tight spaces and is more powerful than typical battery operated models. Love the settable speed control. Not a replacement for a heavy duty electricians or plumbers right angle drill.

this is 110v tool and the first one I ever bought. I find it excellent for tight places.

It measures 3 inches from the back of the drill to the tip of the closed chuck jaws. About 2.5 inches if the chuck jaws are fully open.
