I'm not sure how much weight the hook can hold. I use it to hold a set of work pants and a baseball cap, about 3-4 pounds.
I think they will. The magnets are very strong. I use them to hang up holiday wreaths and decorations. The magnets were so strong that I had problems getting them off the metal doors.
It should work for this application. You would have to try it to see how well it works.
I want to use these to hang utensils on my BBQ while grilling. Is being close to the heat ok for them?
They should be OK if not exposed to too much heat. The 2 in. version might be better for you.
