The HOME-FLEX Tubing Cutter is specially designed for use with HOME-FLEX CSST. The tubing cuter can also be used with aluminum, brass, copper and stainless-steel tubing. The large tightening knob is easy to handle and increases cutting speed by applying more torque with every turn while the 3-roller tracking system ensures a straight cut.

Hi, Skee - No. It's designed for much thinner stainless steel.
Yes.
Yes, this can cut BX cable sheathing.
Yes but it's not the greatest for the blade. I have done this already in a pinch.
absolutely
If you're speaking of EMT conduit the answer is NO. This is made for corrugated gas line. It is possible it would cut through Greenfield (which is flexible electrical conduit) buy definitely not rigid.
That’s not it’s intended purpose. As the cutting wheels are not inexpensive and the are designed for stainless steel which is softer than steel conduit, I would recommend a different tool.
Yes, I have cut EMT conduit with it many times
For copper and flex it works well.
Hi Dan, Yes this will work for 1/2" Tracpipe.
No. This tubing cutter will only cut thin wall flexible tubing. You want a pipe cutter. Take a look at this one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/1-8-in-to-2-in-Model-2-A-Adjustable-Heavy-Duty-Pipe-Cutter-32820/100001470 Enter this part number into the search field on homedepot.com: 32820
Yes, I have used it for cutting CSST. You need to cut carefully and file off any burrs.
Yes you can.
Hi Greg, Gastite has special procedures for cutting the jacket on their black CSST. Yes you can use this tubing cutter to make the first cut. Be sure to follow all of the Gastite instructions.
It should work with all CSST tubing with similar jacket.
You would be wise not to use it.
For a successful coupling you need a square cut of CSST. I too contemplated the less expensive alternatives, but eventually I decided on a purpose built cutter for two reasons: 1. the blades, bearings, and spacing were uniquely specified and designed around CSST, the copper tubing cutters are not quite up to the task, and 2. gas leaks are not something I wanted to mess around with as a possibility. I purchased this tool to complete a task on someone else’s property, so I really wanted to be sure of the results. Though the tool is pricey, it performed wonderfully.
Ken, CSST is stainless steel, much harder than copper. The cutter ring of Copper pipe cutters might cut it, but will not last. This cutter is sturdier and heavy duty. It all depends in how many cuts you will do, and this tol will last a long time of use and can have the cutter repplaced. Hope this helps.
Yes that will work, but if you use a tube cutter that is rated for stainless, it will stay sharper longer. You will want to make sure that the cutter that you use offers a depth of cut deep enough to cut down into the valley of the tubing without damaging the peaks of the corrugations of the tubing. If the tubing cutter that you choose offers a depth of cut of 4.25 mm (0.167" or 11/64") or deeper, that will be fine.
I wouldn't. This cutter is designed to stay perfectly aligned for a perfectly straight cut. And be sure not to over-tighten the fittings.
