Questions & Answers

Is this flexible enough to bend between two posts at 4 feet apart?

I want to make a cage to protect crops from birds.
Asked by: gardener
Too easily. We always use 3/4" and place them atop a base frame around the beds with tees every 2', with a 2' vertical piece coming out of the tee. At the 2' height we use another tee with a spreader running across the bed attaching both sides of the frame to each other preventing the top hoop from spreading the frame. Works beautifully and is quite strong. I almost installed cross tee at the top to keep the top rigid but it worked well enough without I just kept the hoops as single pieces.

If I buy a few 10 foot sections could you cut them in half?

I know sometimes the staff will cut lumber in half if I need it, so it will fit in my car. Is there any way to have 4 pvc sections cut in half (5 feet each) ?

PVC is not recommended for compressed air lines as it explodes upon failure sending small shards of PVC into your body.
