If I buy a few 10 foot sections could you cut them in half?

I know sometimes the staff will cut lumber in half if I need it, so it will fit in my car. Is there any way to have 4 pvc sections cut in half (5 feet each) ?
Asked by: Anonymous
I know this is an old question, but I'll add my 2 cents...Call the store. All my local stores WILL cut PVC pipe. I just had one cut a couple weeks ago.

Home shower installation

In a home shower installation, can I use 1/2 " pvc instead of copper tubing? Will pvc stand up to hot water?
Asked by: Bil72par
pex yes! invest in a good crimper one that does 1/2 and 3/4 should take care of most of house. shark fittings ( or gator or some good brand) for change overs from copper to pex. they are pricey but reusable. pex comes in 100 foot rolls to avoid fittings in walls. doesn't look as nice as copper but all homebuilders use it. I bought the stainless steel type of crimper, there is a copper crimper also (different crimp type). check housing code, some states don't allow homeowner to do their own plumbing.

I want to use this to build a canopy for a queen size bed. Do you think this would be strong enough to hold floor length curtains at 7 feet long?
Asked by: Neil
I used 1/2" which is 7/8" outside diameter. It's good for about 4 ft pieces that won't bend. For a canopy that that uses 7 ft pieces, I would try 3/4" pvc, not 1/2" pvc. Buy a few pieces (not expensive) and do a mock up and see if the 3/4" pvc bends. You can return them without a hassle. good luck !
