                  Misleading labels- not code compliant
Misleading label and not code-compliant. My contractor bought and installed this door for my multi-unit building, which requires Fire Rated doors. Because the white sticker on the side of this door say “Fire Door”, he assumed this is fire rated. Building Inspector rejected the door because it lacks the red “Fired Rated” label. Without the proper label, the door is not fire rated despite the “Fire Door” label.

Nice standard six panel door came with a few dents
Ordered online and when I the contractor picked up from the store noticed a few scratches. I had one day to install with the contractor so I just went with it. Hoping once I paint the door these can be covered. Glad I had a pro help bo way I could have fotted this myself.

                      Didn't even last five years
The picture speaks for itself: This is what my exterior door frame looks like after just 5 years. I bought this door from Home Depot, had them install it, and then painted it -- twice -- with exterior latex. And for five years it seemed okay. But then during a recent rainstorm, I noticed some water seeping in under the threshold. The frame didn't look cracked or damaged, but when I pressed a finger against it, it gave way like it was hollow. The wood was wet all the way through; you can even see daylight where I pushed my finger clear through to the exterior of the house. I called Masonite to ask about the warranty, and they told me to call Home Depot and start a claim with them first. But when I called Home Depot, they said that it would cost me $75 to have someone come out and even look at the door -- and that wood rot most likely wouldn't be covered. In the meantime, I can't patch this -- I'll have to get a whole new door and frame. So no, I wouldn't recommend this product, and I certainly wouldn't recommend having it installed by Home Depot. It was most likely their installation that allowed water to get in under the door frame and cause all this damage. I wish I could say you get what you pay for, but given the cost of this door and the installation, I didn't even get that.

Due to heavy water damage, I had to make repairs to the rough door opening and subflooring of my shed, before installing this new door. Once I had everything level, plumb, and square the new door installed easily. I didn't have any siding to match up with what was on the shed, so I just put up some leftover Hardiboard siding from another job. It should look ok once it's painted. Good quality door -- and it will get a good top coat of paint to protect it.
