Can this be used for framing a carport? (Exterior use)

Answer

Rot and decay occur when wood is exposed to moisture.  Pressure treated wood should be used in exposed exterior applications, or any application where the wood may be exposed to moisture. Design values can be found on www.southernpine.com.  Depending on the project, it may be advisable to consult with a qualified engineer.

I prefer NON treated wood for our veg garden! They do not last as long, 3 or 4 years, but I do not like the idea of the pressure treated chemicals near the roots of our vegetables.

Still really green. Continued to split over the next few days. Board was extremely straight, no twists, and subtle crown. Splits did not affect the purpose of use.

The wood all had very large cracks in it and as soon as I got it put up and it was exposed to the Sun for less than a week it started to warp very bad. I ended up having to replace my sides again with redwood but I highly recommend purchasing Redwood or something of better quality. Worst would this guy has ever used
