About This Product

SharkBite PEX tubing is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured without an oxygen barrier for potable water systems (available in white, blue, and red). A repeating SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-Fit Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint pattern.

Highlights

  • Strong, flexible, corrosion-resistant pipe
  • Flexibility reduces number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points
  • Can be installed wet or dry for immediate pressure testing
  • SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to ensure pipe is fully inserted when using SharkBite push-to-connect fittings
  • SharkBite system provides a variety of connection options, SharkBite PEX can be connected with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings or barbed fittings
  • Listed to NSF 14 and CSA B137.5 for use in potable water systems
  • Meets UL1821 standard for plastic piping for fire systems (3/4 in. and 1 in. only)

Worked good. Made a continous run from a water meter to my hunting camp. It was a little challenging to unroll but otherwise worked great. Much rather have a seamless run than numerous points of failure at the connections.

Need to be on a reel
The product worked great for my application but I would suggest that the 300’ and 500 foot cuts be put on a reel and not coiled up. We had to cut and splice our 380’ run because of how bad the twist was in the pipe. The coils are really hard to handle/ roll out. I would not purchase another 500’ cut if it was not on a reel.

Easy to work with. I was pleasantly surprised when the compression union worked with the PEX pipe to connect to my water main and did not leak! I have Shark Bite connectors and clamps, makes connecting easy. Not all PEX is the same so make sure your connectors are for Shark Bite Pex.

Unfortunately, I still have not received my order becuase someone keeps sending 3/4 inch pipe instead of the 1 inch pipe that I paid for.

This product works well for buried water service but I would not recommend it for bending and running service within a structure. It is very stiff and inflexible.
