Questions & Answers

The torque wrench is sold as 20-100 ft lb but it shows a 10 ft-lb mark on the scale, can I set the wrench at 10 ft-lb when I store it or not in use?
ByMar 29, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Wing, torque wrenches should be stored below 50% of the torque scale to aid in the longevity of the tool. We recommend storing this wrench at 20 ft./lbs, in the provided case.

For the H3DTWA, how do you measure the "L" value for the formula when using an extension that changes the overall length? In the diagram, "L" goes from the drive center down to about 3/4 of the handle. Or should it be to 1/2 the handle? or the full len?
            ByJan 23, 2024
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

QA, For the extension function one should measure the length from the center of the drive tange to the middle point of the handle (where force should be applied) for the most accurate calculation.

I purchased this torque wrench but I am unclear what the minimum torque accuracy is. It is listed as 20-100, but the number go down to 10. Is this torque wrench accurate from 10-20 foot pounds?
              ByDec 6, 2023
              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

Wmonk, The accuracy of a Mircormeter Torqure wrench is only tested in the upper 80% of the scale. For the 3/8 inch Wrench that would be 20-100 ft/lbs. Below 20 ft./lbs. the 'click' is often very light and not always felt by the user. Therefore we recommend this wrench be used in the advertised range of 20 to 100 ft./lbs.

Poor quality; handle dial broke apart and then the anvil snapped after a few years of rare use
I only used this wrench to loosen and torque wheel nuts to 90 ft-lbs and spark plugs to 25 ft-lbs, for the former about ten times per year and the latter once every few years. Light use. Two years into owning the handle dial began to come apart, exposing the spring constant, irritating to spin the dial to the desired setting. Poor durability. Yesterday, while torquing a wheel nut, the anvil snapped. Poor build quality. I (reluctantly) bought a replacement but immediately returned it because the clutch kept disengaging, causing it to slip. Poor quality control. I am done with this product, perhaps brand, too. I regret paying the $90 for it. I understand there is some limited lifetime warranty for replacement but I would have to track down the receipt and they would claim it was wear/tear or that I was incorrectly using it, evading responsibility. Please look elsewhere.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the 3/8 in. Drive Torque Wrench. We understand how frustrating it is when a tool that sees only occasional use develops durability issues over time. Accuracy and reliability are critical for torque applications, and we're disappointed to hear that the wrench did not provide the long-term performance you expected. We appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding its durability and construction. HuskyMHT
Really like the locking design compared to other wrenches easy to use and somewhat easy to read. Really like the thick handle and that it comes with a nice case as this rides in my car most of the time in case something comes up on the road.

Worked well. Provided the extra torque to remove some stubborn 32mm bolts. Also doubles for removing wheel nuts

Started leaking oil with first use
Set it to 73 ft./lbs and it inmediately started leaking oil, I don't know if the quality is poor or if I was just unlucky and got one with a defect but I returned it and I'll be looking for a different brand

                    Broke first day
I bought this to help with changing my mower blades. On the third bolt, the tool just snapped. Hopefully the store will give me my money back.

                      Broke On First Use
This breaker seemed nicely made at first, but broke on the first use loosening some rusty bolts with a cheater pipe for more leverage. The pivot pin of the universal joint snapped and one of the prongs that hold the male socket plug bent over 45 degrees. I'm sure I just exceeded the designed limits of this breaker, but using a pipe for extra leverage is such a common practice that it's frankly silly that they didn't build these stronger with that use in mind. Local store refunded it, thankfully.

                          Very nice torque wrench.
The torque values of 20-100 ft lbs are incorrect. Instead of 20-100 mine is 10-100.

                            Don’t buy, Does no work.
This wrench makes for a better breaker bar than a torque wrench. Second time using it, set it to 4lbs. Was tightening my valve cover and it crack the cover. Massive piece of garbage, what was suppose to be an easy project has now escalated to a massive headache.

Eddy, Sorry to hear your frustration with this wrench. Please keep in mind this wrench is only calibrated to work within the upper 80% of the scale, which is 20 ft./lbs. to 100 ft./lbs. With all click style torque wrenches, the 'click' will be much less noticeable at the lower end of the scale. HuskyMHT
