What is the recommended weight limit of this pot rack. I am looking for something that is capable of holding cast iron pans.
The rack will hold cast iron, the primary issue would be how strong the mounting in the ceiling is. My apartment uses metal studs in the ceiling over the island. I have a set of Epicurious pots and pans on mine and they are NOT lightweight. The rack is working just fine for them.
Unless you have more than, I don't know, 80-100 lbs of cast iron, this will do the job no problem.

Hello, The weight bearing capacity of this pot rack is highly dependent upon how well It’s mounted and how evenly The Weight of the items hung from the rack or stored on the grid are distributed. That said, when properly mounted directly into wooden ceiling studs using the supplied mounting hardware We recommend the capacity of this pot rack not exceed 50 lbs.

This may be a dumb question, but does it come with chains to hang down lower? If not, where do you find chains to match.
No, as I recall (purchased 3 yrs. ago) there is no chain provided. I bought chain from the hardware store and spray painted it to match.
No, there are no chains included. If you really need them (It does hang quite low as it is) you might try a hardware store like Ace or True Value.
I think it has a couple long hooks. I had some extra chain from another project that matched too. You can always get extra chain at homedepot and spray paint brown to match if needed.
