Can you wire from the back
This product does not have a plug. It has to be hardwired. However, the round base that you fix to the wall has threaded plugs on the top/bottom & left/right positions, and you would just attach the part that threads into the base on the end of your conduit. You can also drill through the brick and wire from the back.
Can a motion sensor be added to this?
There are LED 100W bulbs with motion detection built into the bulb. I was thinking of trying one of those motion detection light bulbs in this light, although they say the frosted glass may reduce the ability to detect motion. I'll try that.
Can this be installed upside down indoors?
Is this light appropriate in a coastal area?
Can this be wired using conduit? I want to put it on a finished brick wall (no box) and wire it using conduit coming from above.
Yes, yes, yes. As you describe your planned installation, it will work. Or, you can drill through the brick and wire from the back. Harbor Freight has a set of masonry drill bits that will do the job. Cheap but this is a one time use.
