Product Overview

SharkBite 3/4 in. x 1/2 in. x 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect Brass Reducing Tee Fitting is the fastest way to connect PEX, Copper, CPVC, PE-RT, or HDPE pipe in any combination. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools required. Simply insert the pipe and the teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a watertight seal. Changes can easily be made by rotating the fitting after installation. Removing the fitting is just as fast using a disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed or reused. Designed with stainless steel gripping teeth for a secure connection, chlorine-resistant O-ring for a long-lasting seal and backed by a 25-year warranty.
  • Push-to-Connect fittings are ideal for installation in tight spaces
  • Rated to 200°F and 200 PSI

Don't use it on old work. If there's solder or blemishes on the pipe it won't make a good seal. I've tried a few areas in my house to create a shutoff valve and install tees. Use a compression fitting to convert to new pipe then try it

Works Great, Installs Fast and Easy, No Leaks, 25 Year Warranty
These works great for reducing 3/4" supply lines to 1/2" for shut off valves and other water supply purposes. I used this fitting to reduce a 3/4" copper line to 1/2" CPVC line for an icemaker supply this time. It pushes on fast and stays on tight. No leaks with full pressure. This can also be removed in under a minute using Shark Bite's simple clip release tool available at Home Depot as well. I've used Shark Bite fittings for some time and plan on continuing to do so.

Impressed: No sweat first time connection!
First time using Sharkbites, I was impressed with how easy it was to add a tee between copper and pex! My first connection was a little difficult, it was in a really tight area and I thought I had it all the way on, but checked it again and it slid on a bit further - That spooked me a bit, so my other connections I marked the pipe to indicate the proper insertion depth just to be sure! Overall I'm very happy with these, yes they're a little spendy but well worth not having to sweat fit the connections.

Check the package label. Stock gets mixed up on the shelves. The fitting works well and saves a lot of time if you get the right size. The one I brought to the job had been in the wrong bin at the store, and not the size that I thought I had bought. I had to return to exchange it.
