Does this rust? Is galvanized better?

AnswersYes black pipe will rust over time in the weather. It can be painted to prevent that from happening. For Gas lines I don't recommend galvanized steel. It will over time flake the galvanized material and clog pipes. Galvanized pipe is for water.

Functionally perfect. We used them for shelf support brackets. The only word of caution - they are oil rubbed black so it does tend to come off on your hand during install.
