Q:We need to replace 2 40 Amp Double pole CH 240 breakers and can't find any. We purchased the CHF 240 but it doesn't fit like the CH240 as it doesn't clip in all the way. Is there another that will work? If not, are there any of the CH 240 available.

A:  The CH240 and the CHF 240 should be the same except for the F version having the trip flag. One thing to look at is the prongs that go into the box, on some CH and CHF breakers I have gotten they have a clip that I think is to keep the prongs together in shipping but you have to pop the clip off before installing the breaker in the box. Otherwise they won't seat all the way in.

A:  Select your preferred store and then if none in stock, check nearby stores. I see plenty available in my area. Personally though, I'd be purchasing the newer version CHF240 with the trip flag.

Sadly, unusable. Despite having bought numerous Eaton breakers (both 1 & 2 pole) AND that the sub panel I'd bought was Eaton, these (2-pole) have closer spacing & incompatible "current" slot. HUGE time + $ waste.

            Response from EatonMar 13, 2023
            Hello,
This CH240 is only made to go into CH style panels and is compatible with the vast majority of CH panels current and past. If you are running into an issue of the spacing/size of the breaker not fitting, then it is likely you are using the incorrect breaker for your panel. Please reach out to 877-386-2273 opt 2, 3, 1 for assistance with breaker selection. EatonCircuitProtection
