What kind of double sided tape is appropriate to keep these foam tiles in place on a tile floor?
The best way to stop the foam tiles from sliding on tile is to buy a "Rug Stop" type of product. But I am sure something would work
Can this work for playground area?
Mary this mats are not designed for permanent outdoor use. They can be taken outside for temporary use to sit and play on around a pool or inside a camping tent for cushion but not made to leave out. What happens is the sun, rain and colder temps of night contract and expand out tiles and they do not connect properly and thus do not stay together well. Also around playground they are not rated for falling heights
Is this thick enough to store motorcycles on in the winter to prevent flat spots on tires?
Never had this request before so not 100% sure it would work but this tiles are 3/4 of an inch thick and pretty firm so they may work. The Kick stand would be an issue as you would need to put something down under that
Our current 1/2 interlocking mat is used in a weight room. It has deformed easily under an equipment load. Weight Cage, treadmill, stationary bike, weight bench, etc. Barbells with 100 to 300 lb. loads leave a permanent mark and even warp and curl the mat so it no longer interlocks. That being said, how much weight can these mats handle with out being able either permanently mark or "spring back."
Jim appreciate the question. At the end of the day this mats are foam and when you put enough weight on it the foam will compress and the ends will pop up. Also certain equipment puts concentrated weight in specific spots and that can also cause mats to pop up or leave permanent marks. My usual recommendation is two fold. Do these come with the interlocking edging also?
yes each tile comes with two trim pieces. Just note you will have to trim the edge pieces with scissors since we do not make corners
Can you put these over carpet? Looking to place heavy workout equipment on them on a carpeted floor.
Yes, we did exactly this. The mats do sink into the carpet a bit but adjust with time; the outer edges will lift a little but then flatten out.
