The Genesis high velocity 9 in. window fan with thermostat and max cool technology is a highly innovative window fan. The fan can be used as an intake fan or an exhaust fan. There are 2 expandable side panels allowing the perfect fit to any window frame up to 37 in. W Each side panel can extend up to 6.5 in. There are also 2 removable legs to use the fan while standing on its own. There is a built-in thermostat with LED indicator lights to keep the fan at a comfortable setting. Each of the two 9 in. fan heads has its own independent durable copper motor. The dimensions are 24 x 12 x 4 in. This is an energy Saving device and is ETL approved for the utmost safety.

Replaced old window fan. Purchased because you can select which fan does what. It makes a difference in my room! Definitely more powerful than old one.

We have old double hung windows on our old Craftsman home, which heats up inside in the summer. This window fan was meant to replace the big loud box fan that barely balances on the window sill. After unboxing and installing, I was more than pleased as it exceeded my expectations. It’s got a built in thermostat that has four settings, reversible fan direction for customizing whether you want both bring air into the house or both sending air out, or one of each. And it’s not nearly as loud as the old box fan method. It also has an accordion fan like window blocker built in to fit a variety of window sizes. I’m very pleased with this fan and bought a second one. If you want to circulate that new air this fan brings into your house, also consider a Dreo fan as shown in the picture.

Works really well and Easy to adjust
The fan blows strongly through each blade. Best part is that you can change whether the air is going in or out independently of one another. So can go in while the other goes out or vice versa. If I need to I can get it to fit perfectly in the window, but I don't bother as it's a makeshift exhaust for my kitchen.

would be perfect if it were quieter
I got this fan to cool my bedroom off at night when we have a hot spell, which seems to be more often lately. It fits perfectly in my windows, both vertically and horizontally (see photos). The little lip it has on top holds it in place when you close the window against it vertically. It's nice looking, and I like the thermostat feature. The only reason I only gave it three stars is because it's very loud, even on low. So loud that I don't like to be in the room with it on, so I turn it on before I go to bed to cool the room down, and then turn it off when I come in the room.

No longer sweating in the Kitchen.
I attempted to by this window fan last year but they were out of stock at all the Home Depots near me. So I bought another brand. which worked okay. This year I bought two Genesis at the end of April (2020) so I wouldn't miss out this time. This fan works great. The thermostat feature does a great job of cooling the air coming in. My Kitchen would always be the warmest room because my AC in the Living room just doesn't seem to do a good job reaching the Kitchen area. So rather than spend money on a larger AC. I decided to try a window fan in the Kitchen. So happy I bought the Genesis. I love it. Great fan for the money!

Thermostat is inaccurate. Kind of loud and not very powerful motors, in an opposite breeze the motor slows down almost to a stop even on high but this fan does have air in or air out function. I will not quote out of the manual with any review I do. Hard to give an opinion on this BUT it does on a cooler night and no breeze, blow air in quite well. Comes with two removable foot stands that I can’t figure out where I could use so off those came, sliders on the sides pull out and lock in position nicely. Also this fan has a slot to have your window set into for stability but one of my windows is too thick so there is a ¼” gap between fan and bottom of window. 3 STARS due to inaccurate thermostat and engineering for only newer windows also the price was average.

The fireplace/wood stove was put in a room with a single door to move the heat around to the rest of the house. Of course, during an electrical outage, it keeps the one room warm with the door closed.
We put a twin blade window fan in-between the 2x4s to push the heat through the house and the cold air comes through the door to the room. This was about 30 years ago and about 3 fans ago; this being the 4 fan. It fit right into the existing hole and the trim keeps it in place.
I like the way the fan can be reversed so that in the summer the air from the evaporative cooler can be blown into the room and out the back door. The others didn't do that.
