What size of attachments fit on the end? I would like some step-down attachments for finer work but don't see the measurements.

The battery does not control the RPM. The higher the amp hour of the battery, the higher overall runtime the tool will receive. Each amp hour the battery is increased, you will receive up to 20-25% more runtime.
It seems like this tool requires the higher amp batteries, however it doesn't say so in any of the manuals. When I try to use a 1 amp battery it wont even come on for 5 secs. Anyone else having the same issue?
It's recommendable to use a DEWALT 5Ah battery or higher.
Does this have a convection fan? Or dose it passively release heat?
No, the DCE530B does not have a convection fan.
