The innovative Assist Mode (A-mode) helps eliminate "screw cam-out" and "cross threading" by driving at low speed until tightening begins and is ideal for driving longer fasteners. It delivers 1,240 in.lbs. of Max Torque. At only 5-1/4 in. and 2.6 lbs. (with 2.0Ah battery sold separately), it is a fastening solution with superior comfort and handling. Yes, have owned 5 Makita 18v Impact drivers. I have not owned the xdt13z. I have two in use now that have more features the XDT 12Z and the XDT01 .TheXDT15 handles most jobs without tearing up screws or breaking them. I keep mine in my shop work bench. The others are in my truck.
