worst imaginable quality. not really a dowel- Vietnamese hardwood, in some vague 'diameter' that isn't even close to being round- irregular, misshapen , varying dimensions, color, and and flat areas for the whole length. Cheap, but you could pretty much do the same with a stick and a pocket knife.

Definitely NOT hardwood of any kind. Marks up just trying to remove the huge sticker. Also, the sticker won't come off and I will need to sand it.

Cut portions of the dowel were the best way to attach a rustic redwood table top to the branch base. I secured the dowel pieces with Gorilla wood glue. I remove the prior acrylic fill, sanded, stained the top with multiple coats of oil based Behr Sedona Red and the inset with Varathane Black stain. Five coats of oil based Varathane semi-gloss polyurethane were applied to give the table an attractive and protective shine.

The 3/8” do well was perfect for plugging an mis-drilled hole in a piece of outdoor furniture project.

One dowel has splintered slice & gouges. Hoping we can sand enough to be able to use for scout project. Remaining dowels seem okay.

All 45 dowels that I ordered were poplar, and not Red Oak like in the picture, but more importantly, I now need to buy a 15/16'' forstner bit for a snug fit because... which is horrendous since I already drilled the holes I needed at 1''! Completely wasting several hundreds of dollars worth of wood.

Product is great, but my order was shipped from Waddell directly. I ordered SIX dowels of the same size. They shipped me ONE.

The dowel is fine but immediately after buying it I was at Joann and found the same product for over a dollar cheaper which was quite a bummer; probably won’t go to HD first for anything ever again
