I used this to cover a popcorn ceiling. Did prep work which included using a putty knife to make sure grooves were clear and wiped down tongues to remove debris from milling. Pre-painted faces of planks and back-primed backs, but was careful to keep paint off the tongues and grooves. Face nailed planks to ceiling joists using a brad nailer set to place nail heads just below the surface. Discovered it would have been easier if I'd scraped the popcorn ceiling first! Might also want to consider using lathe furring strips if your ceiling is very uneven - mine wasn't bad. Used blocks of the planks themselves to tap the tongues into the grooves. This avoids flattening the edges to where they won't fit together. Puttied the nail holes and the butt-joints between plank ends, then touched up the paint and put up crown molding. This was 2 years ago and it still looks very good. The back-priming limits seasonal expansion and formation of gaps.

We received it by semi truck, that could not pull into the house and he did not have suitable equipment to unload the supply. Also this MDF board is highly susceptible to water damage and I was required to unload it in a downpour at a location that was not near my home. 2 miles away. So some of the pieces were wet by the time we got them to a place out of the dry. I’m hoping that we were able to save them we will see over time.

Product was just as described. Came well packaged. Couple of pieces had small nicks in the panel edge but easy to cover. Easy to install. Plan to purchase more for another project.

These boards were thinner than I had hoped, making for some warping and bulging from insulation behind. Once installed and painted, they look great. They are in a little farm store but I wouldn’t use them in a home remodel unless laying them on top of existing drywall, not just framing.

Not a good choice for ceiling application, though instructions indicate it can be used on ceilings. The recommended nails split the wood each time - material shatters instead of accepting the nails. Poor quality. Maybe ok for glueing to a wall, if you’re weren’t going to use nails.
