Is this heat resistant, if I want to place near a gas insert fireplace?
If installing directly over existing linoleum, what preparation is needed to existing linoleum? Is a wax remover needed to remove any existing wax residue to get these to adhere well to the linoleum?

Yes,Just make sure the old tiles are clean. I would wipe down the old tile with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue too. Also, don't put the new ones on exactly like the old ones if you can help it. You want them over lapping each other just a little.
Can these tiles be purchased by the piece as well as not by the box?
Does this need to have adhesive if I’m laying it on concrete?
For the tan/burgandy... is the burgandy the actual color or does it lean towards red or brown?
